As an eyeglass wearer and occasional contact lens wearer for the last 30 years, I became interested in finding out more about the LASIK procedure. I dreaded having to go out and search for new frames when my prescription would change. It would sometimes take several weeks or several trips to a retailer before I could make-up my mind and select a pair of frames.

After discussing the procedure with my family, I made the decision to have the LASIK procedure done. Throughout my initial consult, LASIK procedure, and follow-up visits, I found both Dr. Bowers and his staff at Piedmont Eye Center to be very professional and informative. They explained the procedure to me in a step by step manner that I could understand before and during the procedure. Their professionalism and sincere care really helped me to relax during the procedure because I was a little nervous at first. I also really appreciated the phone call that I got from Dr. Bowers the evening after my procedure. He was calling to check on me and to make sure I was doing alright. I don’t think I have ever gotten a call like that before.

I feel almost like a new person now that I don’t have to worry with my old glasses. It’s a wonderful feeling to wake up in the morning and be able to actually see across the room without fumbling for my glasses. I must admit that after wearing glasses for so long it was a very odd feeling at first without my glasses. That quickly turned into a welcomed and exciting feeling.
