We value our staff members at Piedmont Eye Center, and we want our patients to get to know them better! Each month, we introduce you to one of the people who keep our office going. Next in our “Meet the Staff” series is Donna! Donna has been with us for over 15 years!
What is your role at Piedmont Eye Center?
I work in the Billing and Insurance department following up on insurance claims, answering phones to assist patients with billing questions and taking their private payments. I post charges for four of our physicians every day and I obtain authorizations and billing information for our patients who present a workers’ compensation claim. I also process refunds to patients if they have made an overpayment.
How long have you worked at Piedmont?
I have been with Piedmont for 15 years.
What do you love most about your job?
Coming in to a comfortable and welcoming environment each day with coworkers who have become friends/family.
What is one thing you wish every patient knew?
That all of our physicians consider each and every patient important to our practice because they are who make our practice what it is. Our physicians strive to provide the best care to their patients using the latest in medical technology.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
Spending as much time as possible with my family and friends.
If you were stranded on a desert island and could only bring one thing, what would it be?
My husband, Larry. I could not do life without him.
If money was not a concern what would you do every day if you didn’t work?
Travel. I have always wanted to go to Hawaii, Ireland, Scotland and Greece. I would love to visit each state in the U.S. and be able to spend enough time there to really enjoy what they have to offer.
If you could have dinner with any one person, living or dead, who would it be?
My Uncle Jimmy. He was such a wonderful man, so kind and knowledgeable. He was an amazing artist and he traveled so often. I loved to sit with him and hear all of his stories.
Coke or Pepsi?
Diet Pepsi
Coffee or tea?
Iced tea!
Do you have any words of advice to share?
Welcome each day. Cherish the ones you love and take time to spend with them because time is precious.
