Piedmont Eye Center takes pride in caring for our patients. Our staff is passionate about serving the community, and we are excited to bring you a new “Meet the Staff” blog introducing Brittney Harris!
What is your role at Piedmont Eye Center?
I am a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant, working mainly for Dr. Klink’s neuro clinic. When not in Klink’s clinic, I work in the Clinical Research Program as a technician and help train the new technicians while they are in the training program. Recently, I have been enjoying a new role working as the head of our contact lens department. I wear many hats here and enjoy the variety.
How long have you worked at Piedmont?
7 ½ years!
What do you love most about your job?
I love the satisfaction of helping the patients and seeing the results of the surgeries that we do.
What is one thing you wish every patient knew?
I wish everyone knew how precious your eyesight is. Don’t take it for granted.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I am a fulltime mom of two sweet baby girls and the wife of a firefighter. My free time is spent with my family soaking up the time we have together.
If you were stranded on a desert island and could only bring one thing, what would it be?
Probably my husband…I know it says “thing” but I’d definitely make sure I brought him; he’d make it enjoyable to be stranded.
If money was not a concern what would you do every day if you didn’t work?
I would be a stay at home mom with my girls. They grow up too fast, and I miss the time I’m away from them at work. I never thought I’d like being at home, but I fortunately was able to stay home with them for some time during the quarantine of 2020. My days with them are so special.
If you could have dinner with any one person, living or dead, who would it be?
So many choices…I would say Matt LeBlanc, who plays Joey from Friends. I think it would be fun to hear about all the times on the Friends set.
Coke or Pepsi?
Well, I would choose Dr. Pepper…I’m one of those people.
Coffee or tea?
If it’s hot, coffee, if it’s cold, tea. But it’s got to be sweet.
Do you have any words of advice to share?
“Success is liking yourself, liking what you do, and liking how you do it!”
