At Piedmont Eye Center, we value each and every one of our staff members, and we want our patients to get to know them better! Each month, we will introduce you to one of the people who keep our office running smoothly. This month, we want you to meet Carole.
What is your role at Piedmont Eye Center?
My official title is Office Manager. I share Human Resource responsibilities with the other managers. I am responsible for all accounts payable for our practice as well as overseeing credentialing for our physicians. The Insurance and Billing Department is one of my main responsibilities.
How long have you worked at Piedmont?
I have been serving Piedmont Eye Center for over 44 years. Dr. Remo Lotano started our practice in July of 1973 and I actually came two weeks before he did to set up the practice.
What do you love most about your job?
I love working with my fellow co-workers on a daily basis.
What is one thing you wish every patient knew?
I wish each patient knew how our physicians and practice try to stay on the cutting age of technology for their benefit. Even though the field of medicine has changed over the years with so many regulations, the patients should always be our top priority.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I enjoy spending time with my family at our beach house in Myrtle Beach whenever I can.
If money was not a concern what would you do every day if you didn’t work?
Probably sleep late.
If you could have dinner with any one person, living or dead, who would it be?
My parents who passed away many years ago.
Coke or Pepsi? Coffee or tea?
I prefer Coke over Pepsi and tea over coffee.
Do you have any words of advice to share?
Try to live every day to your fullest capability. Try to be kind to everyone as we do not know what may be going on in another person’s life causing them stress.
If you see Carole on your next visit to the office, be sure to stop and say hello!
