Our staff at Piedmont Eye Center provide the care that makes our office special. We value each member, and we are excited to keep introducing our staff to you. Meet Jan Hill—our latest staff feature.
What is your role at PEC?
After 25 years in retail management, I was hired as a receptionist here at Piedmont Eye Center. After a few years, I transitioned into the role of front desk supervisor. Now, I also assist with recruitment and onboarding all new hires.
How long have you been at PEC?
It will be eight years this November. I hope to have many more years to come.
What is one thing you wish every patient knew?
There are so many things I would want them to know, but the most important would be how hard our doctors and staff work. We aim to be prepared for all visits to give our patients the best experience from beginning to end.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I am addicted to Pinterest. I love finding fun new crafts to do with my family. We have family craft nights, and at the end of them, we have a little memory to take away as a reminder.
If you were stranded on a desert island and could only bring one thing, what would it be and why?
Assuming escape was not an option and food was not scarce, I would need my iTunes account. Lord knows I don’t want to be rescued.
If money was not a concern what would you do every day if you didn’t work and why?
I would love to open a small island retirement community. The community would have gardens, a staff of cooks, activity directors and the best medical care possible.
If you could have dinner with any one person, living or dead, who would it be and why?
I would love to have one more pot of coffee with my grandmother. No matter who you were or when you visited, the first thing she wanted to do was make a pot of coffee and talk.
Coke or Pepsi? Coffee or Tea?
Coffee and Tea.
Do you have any words of advice?
In the words of Guy Lombardo and Doris Day, “Enjoy yourself, it’s later than you think.”
