At Piedmont Eye Center, we do our best to provide top-notch customer service and create space for positive interactions with patients. We also love to introduce you to our wonderful employees. This month, we’re introducing you to Vivian!
What is your role at Piedmont Eye Center?
I primarily scribe for Dr. Bowers but I also assist the other doctors as needed.
How long have you worked at Piedmont?
I have worked for Piedmont Eye Center for a little over 2 years now.
What do you love most about your job?
The thing I love the most about my job is seeing patients after surgery and seeing how excited they are about their vision. It’s such an honor to be a part of that process.
What is one thing you wish every patient knew?
One thing I wish every patient knew is how difficult the pandemic has been for everyone including the staff here at Piedmont. Please remember to be patient, compassionate, and understanding. We are here for you and to help you!
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I love to watch movies, play video games, and chase storms.
If you were stranded on a desert island and could only bring one thing, what would it be?
A phone to call my boyfriend Taylor, he can fix or build anything! He could turn that island into a tropical paradise for us! Then I could invite all of my friends and we would live the island life!
If money was not a concern what would you do every day if you didn’t work?
If money was not a concern I would love to move out west, chase storms, and study to become a meteorologist in the off season.
If you could have dinner with any one person, living or dead, who would it be?
If I could have dinner with anyone, I would choose Kaitlin Aylor. Kaitlin was supposed to be my roommate my freshman year of college but God called her home 2 weeks prior to school starting. I wonder all the time about the friendship that could have blossomed that year and how different my life might be because of it.
Coke or Pepsi? Coffee or tea?
Dr. Pepper. Both coffee and tea, just depends on the time of the day… or the day…
Do you have any words of advice to share?
My favorite quote is an excerpt from a poem by Robert Frost called “The Road Not Taken” it states, “I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference.” My take away from this has always been to not be afraid to be different and go against the flow.
