Piedmont Eye Center offering iLux®, an innovative dry eye treatment!
Dry Eye treatment is now available! Over 30 million people in the U.S. struggle with chronic dry eye symptoms. In many cases, Meibomian Gland Dysfunction (MGD) causes unpleasant symptoms, including dry eyes. Dr. Darin Bowers is now offering iLux®, an in-office dry eye treatment that specifically targets MGD. We are excited to be one of the few practices in the region to offer this state-of-the-art treatment for our patients with dry eye symptoms and MGD.
The iLUX® treatment is an advanced, in-office solution designed to gently warm and massage the eyelids, unclogging blocked oil glands and restoring healthy tear film. Unlike artificial tears, iLUX® treats the root cause of dry eye, not just the symptoms.

If these symptoms sound familiar, iLUX® may be the right treatment for you.
MGD (Meibomian Gland Dysfunction) is often associated with low Omega-3 levels in the eyelid meibomian glands, important in maintaining a healthy tear layer. One way to improve dry eye symptoms more naturally is by taking a quality Omega-3 supplement, something many doctors recommend for general health benefits as well. One that we find beneficial and has been studied extensively in dry eye patients can be found here:
