Darin Bowers, MD received his medical training through Marshall University followed by a full Internal Medicine residency through West Virginia University. He then completed his Ophthalmology training at Geisinger Medical Center in Pennsylvania. He received dual board certification in both Internal Medicine and Ophthalmology and now specializes in advanced laser cataract and Lasik eye surgery. Dr. Bowers has over 30 years of surgical experience and offers the latest in cataract surgery lens implants including premium multi-focal (PanOptix™, ClearView 3™), extended depth-of-focus (Vivity™), and the latest Light-Adjustable Lens™ (LAL) which allows for in-office fine tuning of a patient’s vision following surgery. He is actively involved in many clinical & surgical research trials to help bring new products into the industry and is the only VISX-certified Custom Lasik provider in the area with over 25 years of experience. He has been involved with ophthalmic medical missions in Honduras since 2005 and co-founded the faith-based non-profit organization known as Health In Sight Mission of Roatan. Dr. Bowers is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and the National Board of Physicians and Surgeons. He serves as a clinical assistant professor of ophthalmology for the Liberty University College of Medicine and is currently on the editing subcommittee for the American Academy of Ophthalmology Basic & Clinical Science Course publication used in training ophthalmology residents in the US and internationally.
