We value our staff members at Piedmont Eye Center, and we want our patients to get to know them better! Each month, we introduce you to one of the people who keep our office going. Next in our “Meet the Staff” series is Brielle. Get to know her!
What is your role at Piedmont Eye Center?
I am a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant. I sometimes work as a technician but prefer to scribe. I am often utilized as a trainer for incoming scribes in various clinics. I also assist in LASIK surgery and used to perform LASIK evaluations. Additionally, I am involved in several glaucoma research studies. I have traveled with physicians to several of our remote offices including Bedford and Farmville.
How long have you worked at Piedmont?
I have worked at Piedmont Eye Center for 7 years.
What do you love most about your job?
Honestly, I love the people I work with. It is an absolute privilege to work with physicians and co-workers who not only prioritize patient care, but also value and respect each other.
What is one thing you wish every patient knew?
All good things are worth waiting for. No, but seriously, we truly do value your time and we try our very best to provide efficient care even though it doesn’t always feel like it.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I am a single mom of two young boys as well as work and attend nursing school, so free time is hard to come by. However, I do enjoy creating cross-stitch pieces that are kitschy and non-traditional in nature.
If you were stranded on a desert island and could only bring one thing, what would it be?
Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum because there is no excuse for frizzy hair, not even on a desert island.
If money was not a concern, what would you do every day if you didn’t work?
Every single day I would sit at an outside café in Florence, Italy, drinking coffee and eating fresh pastries while donning a hat and sunglasses fit for Audrey Hepburn herself. Where are my kids in this scenario, you ask? Hopefully with our well-loved French au pair.
If you could have dinner with any one person, living or dead, who would it be?
Ryan Gosling probably already has plans.
Coke or Pepsi? Coffee or Tea?
Is this even a question? Obviously, Coke. Also, coffee. Lots of coffee.
Do you have any words of advice to share?
Life is hard but it’s better with great coworkers, Skinny Serum and coffee. Also, an au pair wouldn’t hurt.
