At Piedmont Eye Center, we think our staff are pretty great. They make us the friendly and community-focused organization that we are. Today, we’d like you to meet our staff member Erin.
What is your role at Piedmont Eye Center?
When I first was hired at Piedmont Eye Center, I worked in our imaging department. Shortly after, I was moved over to work with Dr. Javey as one of her technicians. I now work hand-in-hand with Dr. Javey as her main scribe when she sees patients, and I help with all of the research we have going on in the office.
How long have you worked at Piedmont?
I have been at Piedmont for five years.
What do you love most about your job?
I love the friendships I build with patients I see on a regular basis, and knowing that having that friendship makes coming to see the doctor a little easier for them.
What is one thing you wish every patient knew?
Everything we do is for a reason. So, it might take a little longer to get results or extra testing might be needed, but everything we do is done to provide the best care possible for our patients.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I love going four-wheeling when it’s nice out or binge-watching my hundreds of Netflix shows when it’s a dreary day.
If you were stranded on a desert island and could only bring one thing, what would it be?
Chapstick. I never, ever go anywhere without my chapstick.
If money was not a concern what would you do every day if you didn’t work?
I love all types of animals so I would work for an animal rescue, or the Humane Society.
If you could have dinner with any one person, living or dead, who would it be?
I would have to say God. I have so many questions about life in general I would love to ask him.
Coke or Pepsi? Coffee or tea?
Definitely Coke, but there is no way I can pick between coffee or tea. I have to have both!
Do you have any words of advice to share?
“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” Matthew 6:34
