At Piedmont Eye Center, our staff members are dedicated to helping our patients feel right at home! We love helping our community get to know them better, too. Today, we’d like to introduce Tonya.
What is your role at Piedmont Eye Center?
I work as the front desk lead.
How long have you worked at Piedmont?
I’ve worked here for five and a half years.
What do you love most about your job?
The interactions with patients and the relationships that develop over time. They are very special to me!
What is one thing you wish every patient knew?
We at the front desk love talking with patients, especially ones we’ve built relationships with. Unfortunately, time is not on our side at the front desk. So, in the daily struggle of being efficient…it feels impersonal and that is not the way we like patients to feel.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
When I get free time, I love being in the mountains! I ride my motorcycle through the mountains every opportunity I have.
If you were stranded on a desert island and could only bring one thing, what would it be?
Any apparatus that plays music.
If money was not a concern what would you do every day if you didn’t work?
I would collaborate with a friend to own and operate a senior dog sanctuary so dogs could live out the rest of their lives comfortable and loved unconditionally.
If you could have dinner with any one person, living or dead, who would it be?
Paul McCartney!
Coke or Pepsi? Coffee or tea?
Pepsi – that’s right, front desk ladies! And I love coffee!!
Do you have any words of advice to share?
In this world where you can be anything…just be kind. We never know what someone else is battling.
