Golnaz Javey, MD received her medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School. She completed her ophthalmology residency at Virginia Commonwealth University and served as the Chief Resident during her last year of residency. She then continued with fellowship training in Vitreo-Retinal diseases at the prestigious Bascom Palmer Eye Institute and Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Javey has presented in local and national meetings and has published in national scientific journals.
Dr. Javey is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. She is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Retina Specialists, Virginia Society of Ophthalmology, and Lynchburg Academy of Medicine. Dr. Javey’s areas of expertise include diabetes, macular degeneration, “floaters”, retinal detachment and retinal vascular disease. Dr. Javey performs advanced Vitreo-Retinal surgery using the latest techniques available. Dr. Javey has been practicing medicine since 2005.
